My laptop does not have an external line-in port though perhaps the chipset supports it? The Sound Juicer CD player app’s volume control is also able to control the main speaker output.

Guys, same card, I solved everything by installing realtek’s audio drivers http: You don’t see the audio slider bars or controls going up, you just hear the volume getting louder and louder until it maxes out.
Sound card is not found in Gutsy.
